Fabric Magnet Board
My kids love magnet boards in their room, the only problem is they don't match. So I came up with an idea that makes us all happy, fabric covered magnet boards.
They are so easy to make, all you need is your metal and some fabric that will match, some coordinating ribbon and your hot glue gun.
First you need to cut your fabric to be slightly bigger than your metal.
Then just start hot gluing your fabric onto your metal. Make sure you pull the fabric tight so that there aren't any wrinkles on the front of your board.
Once you have the fabric totally glued, then take your drill and put two holes in the top of the board for your ribbon. Then you are done!!

Watermelon on a stick
I'm back! My sister in laws birthday is today and I've been working on a cute little gift for her.
First thing I did was take some muslin and cut out a watermelon shape.
Then I sewed it together leaving a small opening so I could stuff it with batting.
Next, I turned the watermelon right sides out and stuffed it with the batting, then I started painting the whole thing red.
After the red was dry I painted the green and then did the black seeds.
While the watermelon was drying, I painted some old finial block thing I had, and I found a dowel in the garage and painted that too. Then I glued the dowel into the hold that was on top of the finial block.
When everything was dry, I took the watermelon and cut a little hole in the bottom and then glued it on top of the dowel. To finish it off, I tied ribbon around the dowel. Happy Birthday Jessie!
